Scuba love.

10 April 2012

Pictures, finally! (:

I still think scuba diving was such a blast. And I still miss Tioman.

Anyhow.

These pictures are but a glimpse of what we did there because there’s nothing quite like experiencing things for yourself.

In addition to photos from my camera, other photos courtesy of Uncle Francis, Raja, and Edison.

tioman

Where we went: Salang, Tioman, Malaysia

How we got there: via van to Mersing, ferry to Salang. And back.

Where we stayed: in a bungalow on stilts (kampung island)

Things we did: Eat. Sleep. Dive. And study – everyday. And snorkel, once.

tioman food

What we ate: BBQ fish, squid. Lamb chop, steak, roti prata, banana pancakes, curry puff, Malay kueh, omelette, Ramly burgers, ice cream

dive

What we saw: tons of sea cucumbers and sea urchins. Sea anemone, clown fish, trigger fish, puffer fish, corals, a turtle and an eel, parrot fish, blue-spotted stingray, school of barracuda

Friends we made: Nita, Melvin, Raja, Sarah, Warren (Nita and Melvin aren’t in the above photo, though.)

What we played: Snap and Happy Family (old school games, for the win!)

What I got: battle scars, a bracelet, sea shells, a tan (: And a cold on the second last day, boo.

What we talked about: inside jokes, silly puns (Shell I sea you tomorrow? HAHA.)

What I’m thankful for: good weather, good company, safety, being healthy enough to go diving

What I loved: Sun, sea, and sand (: boat rides, hanging out, relaxing, blue skies, clear waters, watching the sun set, stargazing, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the rocks everyday

What I miss: pretty much everything (with the exception of the what I don’t miss list, see below)

What I don’t miss: blocked noses/ears, sand flies, and the taste of salt water in my mouth

Scuba diving was: a blast, an amazing, unrivaled experience, which completely rocked my socks.

I would: go diving again in a heartbeat.

So many stories to tell. Good times, good memories. Definitely.

Isn’t this incredibly pretty?

Tomorrow, we leave early at five in the morning while the rest (or most) of the world is still asleep.

I’ll be away this week, going swimming with the fishies in Tioman, Malaysia, with a bunch of church friends and four-fifths of my family.

Not being much of an outdoors-y person, scuba-diving is going to be both a scary (in a good weird way) and exciting experience all at the same time.

Somehow, I’m not excessively pumped right now (which happens to be pretty normal for me, haha); but I know I will be once we get there (:

I’m praying for lots of good weather, and looking forward to plenty of sun, sea and waves.

Fingers crossed for a good tan when I get home! (: haha.

This new experience is going to be good fun.

Catching up.

I’M BACCKKKK! (:

I was away from Wednesday to Saturday last week with the Teh’s helping with Character First! Education training in Kluang. We went early to make preparations. And also got to enjoy lots of Kluang hospitality, eat good food, and go shopping (: ‘Twas fun getting to teach again and meet new people. And I’m thankful for how well everything went.

Just a couple of photos from the trip:

Loved the pretty puffy clouds on the way back.

I arrived home on Saturday night, right in time to enjoy all the weekend fun and hang out with my much-missed sibs and friends.

I missed last week’s Sketch Wednesday at the Green Frog Studio because I was away though ): But I hope to be able to come up with something over the next two days. We’ll see.

As always, it’s good to be home (:

What Valentine’s Day plans do you have tomorrow?
