This crazy busy life.

11 October 2012

Life’s been busy, as evidenced by the lack of posts on this space.

But I’ve been learning to subtract things – like limiting how much time I spend on social media and updating this blog and stuff. It isn’t a matter of not wanting to; it’s only that I’m learning to make things add up where it really counts. I especially liked what this post had to say about simplifying when life gets too busy.

Still, busy is good and I’m not complaining one bit!

When life slows down a bit, I’ll get pictures up of paper things I’ve made lately. (Because I’ve really been meaning to.)
Check back soon!

Hardly believing that it’s only one more day until the weekend (where did time go?).

Thinking that “A short run is better than no run at all.” because “The only workouts you regret are only the ones you don’t do.” (:

Getting used to this routine and being in school/study mode.

Loving homemade dinners by the sister <3

Still wishing I had more time to make paper things.

Needing to get stuff on the to-do list done.

Making myself hungry thinking about yummy desserts + food recipes I should try.

Currently liking the clean, white, minimalist look.

Deciding whether or not to get the Silhouette Cameo.

Reminding myself to SAVE. MONEY.

Wanting to try DIY projects and get things on the 21 list done.

Thankful for how not-so-stressful this week has been – so far.

Hello October

October: Hoping to settle into routine. Working hard + playing hard. Embracing these last two months of 2012 and counting down the months to Christmas. Planning to make things on the 21 list happen. Running + enjoying life.

Hello, October. I think you’re looking to be pretty good.
And I’m excited about all the possibilities you’re going to bring.

xo.

Around here lately.

Things have been busy around here, to say the least.

My table is in a mess. My mind is thinking about assignments and projects. I don’t seem to have enough time for all the things I want to do (think: Project Life, 21 recipes, DIY projects, random things on my to-do list etc. etc.)

But I’ve been working hard, really. And trying not being distracted by the unimportant things on the internet.

Life’s been good altogether and God is good.

I hope your week’s been super duper.
xo.

Remember,

20 September 2012

While I have a million things running through my head right now, I think this sums everything up quite nicely:

Nice, deep breaths.
And trusting that God will work everything out somehow, whatever it is.

Only one more day until the weekend! (:
xoxo.

Dreams + work.

And with God’s help, work hard, I shall.

Because, “I’m not telling you its going to be easy, I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.”

This is going to be busy good, I think (:
I’m sorta excited, looking forward.

Really pleased that I got to go running today (:

So thankful for answered prayer.

Hardly believing that I’ve already been twenty-one for a week.

Wishing the week wouldn’t fly by so quickly (It’s already Wednesday tomorrow!)

Thinking about how I really should get started on Project Life again, despite how far behind I am.

Pretty much decided that I’m not going to stress myself out with catching up on Project Life.

Keeping myself busy with plenty of to-do lists.

Making thank-you cards and paper things.

Trusting and praying for God to work things out in His sovereignty.

Looking forward to being busy (or busier) with school.

Pinning yummy food and inspiring things on Pinterest.

Loving these quotes (here and here).

I hope your week is super fabulous.

So here it is, the *official* twenty-one list!

1. Document my life at 21. (Project Life, here I come!)

2. Make 21 DIY projects.

3. Get onto the dean’s list at school.

4. Try 21 new recipes.

5. SAVE MONEY.

6. Visit a museum.

7. Buy one outfit online.

8. Read at least one book a month.

9. Participate in at least 2 runs.

10. Go on a picnic.

11. Spend a day at the park.

12. Cook more Chinese food.

13. Write at least 5 thank you cards.

14. Eat fruit at least once a day for a whole month.

15. Keep a running log of distances I run each month.

16. Wear only glasses every day for a whole week.

17. Take pictures with and develop photos from a disposable camera.

18. Learn 300 new vocabulary words.

19. Not spend money for a month.

20. Have a baking date/tea party.

21. Happy surprise someone.

—

Some of these are from the twenty list – they were so good I had to do them again.

Others, well, truth be told, doing some of those things on the list scare me, like not knowing if I’ll actually get them done. But I guess life is all about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, yes?

After all, twenty-one is bound to be pretty memorable with all these things to keep me busy (:

Twenty-one, you’re going to be good.

Lessons learned

4 September 2012

God taught me a lot this year. Some lessons I learned new, others I learned again.  And a lot of lessons, I’m still learning. Honestly, I learned more than twenty lessons, but if I had to put it down, here are twenty lessons I’m taking to twenty-one:

1. Life is complicated.

2. Laugh at yourself.

3. Forgiveness is never easy, always necessary.

4. Take whatever life throws at you and make the most of it.

5. Speak up for what you want/believe.

6. A lot of things depend on your perspective.

7. God is always good.

8. Talk less, listen more.

9. Don’t judge.

10. Make everyone a friend.

11. Don’t be afraid to dream – BIG.

12. Be patient.

13. Money is easy to spend, hard to earn.

14. Contentment is a decision.

15. Set realistic goals.

16. In everything, give thanks.

17. Don’t be afraid of new experiences.

18. Do what you love.

19. Enjoy each moment.

20. God’s timing is always perfect.

I’m excited for what God’s going to teach me at twenty-one.
Let’s do this!
