Wednesday Word | no. 023

16 April 2014

This is pretty much my life this week.

I feel like I’m overflowing with ideas of blog posts to write and things to do, but I just haven’t got time to do it all.

So hang in there with me, I’m working on it.
I hope your Wednesday is full of laughter and sunshine.

Look Up / Carlo Mussett

Spring break was such a nice breather, albeit a little too short.

But I’ve spent this past week dealing with some unexpected curve balls, remembering to have faith, and trusting that everything will work out.

Dealing with things completely out of my control can be so scary, but such a good reminder that He is so much bigger than I am. And as I look up, He shows me His reality in so many little ways.

So I’m pressing on through this week, because He’ll get me through.

I hope the rest of your week is amazing x.

Reminding myself of these words of wisdom today and this week.

After all,

“The first to apologize is the bravest.
The first to forgive is the strongest.
And the first to forget is the happiest…”

Remembering this quote today as I do my best to stay on top of things, despite how crazy busy it has been.

It’s one of those weeks where I feel like I don’t have enough hours in a day to complete my endless to-do list. So I’m just trying to stay focused and work at getting stuff done.

And as soon as this busyness eases, I’ll be back. Promise.

Lately, the truth of this quote has truly resonated with me.

I really feel like I need more hours in a day – more hours to spend time with people I love, make creative fun stuff, go to places, and check off things to do (like writing blog posts). On a side note, I actually have an entire backlog of posts I need to finish writing and post. I’m getting on it, I promise.

But anyhow, while the number of hours in a day stays the same, I’ll try to make every minute of it worthwhile and productive.

Here’s to right priorities and mind-blowing productivity!
Happy Wednesday – I hope your week has been super duper so far (:

tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it yet...Anne of Green Gables

I’ve been an Anne of Green Gables fan since I was little. And Anne Shirley certainly has some wise words for me today.

In between trying not to feel overwhelmed by all the work I need to do/to-do lists I need to complete, and balancing my overachiever tendencies, I’m remembering how thankful I am that I have another chance to make tomorrow even better, despite today not being as good as I would’ve liked it to be.

At least there’s still a brand-new tomorrow to do better.

I’m so glad Anne Shirley is right.

It's not about them anyway.

Short and sweet, this quote pretty much sums up what I’ve been reminding myself of this week – to have my confidence in my Savior and Creator, to live for an audience of One, to do my best regardless of whether people recognize/appreciate what I do.

Because really, it’s not about them anyway.

This week has been pretty slow around here. It’s rained every single day this week and while I really do love the rain, it mostly just makes me feel like sleeping in and lazing around. Which really doesn’t help when you have assignments due and things to get done. So I’m just mostly trying to persevere to the end of this week, get motivated and into the groove of working hard.

But like the reminder my mom texted me yesterday, “The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude“. So I’m choosing to keep my spirits up and not let the lack of sunshine get to me too much.

Here’s to a brighter, second-half of the week!

This week has been really busy but really good in all sorts of ways.
And it’s probably going to stay pretty busy with all the plans I have; I’m excited for it all though.

But I’m pausing a little this midweek, slowing down to remind myself of how I want to be through all the plans and everything that keeps me busy – kind, intense, and brave.

I hope your week’s been swell so far!

Julia Child

This past week, I had several opportunities to catch up with friends + bond. It’s amazing what happens to your friendships/relationships when you spend time over food. It’s like a whole new world opens up and you connect in a brand new way. You come up with inside jokes, tell stories, laugh, and go away remembering that you have so much to be grateful for.

So it looks like Julia Child said it right.
Because I couldn’t have said it better myself.
