National Scrapbook Day 2015 | blog hop with Kellie Stamps

1 May 2015

NSD KS

Welcome to the National Scrapbook Day Kellie Stamps blog hop and stamp challenge!

Scrapbooking is such a huge part of my life and I love that it gets an entire day to itself (:

To celebrate National Scrapbook Day this weekend, Kellie and the Kellie Stamps Design Team, together with Jessica from Color Cast Designs is having a blog hop where we’re sharing fun stamping techniques with you all. Best of all, we’re having a bunch of stamp giveaways!

EXCITING NEWS : Today, Kellie is starting a pre-order for the May stamp releases, Today and Outline It.  There is more – for this weekend ONLY you can use the code : NSDAY2015 for 10% OFF your order, until Monday 4 May at midnight, AEST.

WANT TO WIN A STAMP SET?  We are giving you three chances to try winning a stamp set for yourself!

Here’s how:

  1. Take part in the blog hop. To do this, hop along to each blog on the list below, leave a comment on each Kellie Stamps National Scrapbook Day blog post.
  2. Join our challenges by copying one of the stamping techniques shared by a design team member. Projects must be NEW, no linking to old blog projects. Once your projects are complete, add your link to the linky at the end of the blog post. Links can be to blog posts or images from instagram.
  3. ALL of the above.

You have till midnight AEST on Monday 4 May to take part in both the blog hop and the challenge.

Today, I’m sharing these fun stamped cards using the new Today and Outline stamp sets from May (Don’t forget to pre-order!).

Stamp repeatedly to create fun patterns that can be used as-is or as backgrounds

I’ve always loved stamping. And I naturally gravitate towards just stamping with black ink. But recently, I’ve fallen in love with colored inks. So I decided to combine my love for stamping and colored inks to create these cards.

Stamp repeatedly to create fun patterns that can be used as-is or as backgrounds

For the thank you card, I used the alphas in the Outline stamp set and highlighted Thank You with a different color. The Hello card uses arrows from the Today stamp set to create a muted pattern that can be used as a background.

Stamp repeatedly to create fun patterns that can be used as-is or as backgrounds

I picked my favorite dye ink colors for the Love card and just stamped repeatedly. I did the same thing for the Today card and just switched up the colors.

YOUR CHALLENGE: Use colored inks (any color but black) + a repeated image to create a stamped pattern that can be used on its own or as a background.

Sketch Wednesday Take / 18 April + 25 April ’12

9 May 2012

I thought I wouldn’t have time to do layouts after starting Project Life, but I’m glad that hasn’t been the case!

Here are layouts from Sketch Wednesdays over at the Green Frog Studio a couple weeks ago…

Project #22: Ade was here

adewashere

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Studio Calico Take Note collection, chipboard shapes; American Craft Amy Tangerine thickers; washi tape; Tattered Angels mustard seed glimmer mist, decadence chalk mist

This layout has all my favorite things: Studio Calico patterned papers, washi tape, glimmer mist, and my little sister <3

adewashere2

adewashere4

I love those Studio Calico chipboard butterflies!

Project #23: 25 Dec

25dec

Supplies: Bazzill basics cardstock; Tattered Angels sea kelp glimmer glam; Basic Grey Picadilly collection; Studio Calico wood veneers; American Craft thickers; Maya Road kraft doilies; Kaiser Craft clear stamp journalling spots

I scaled the photos down and used 3x4s instead of 4x6s. Love how it turned out!

25dec2

25dec3

25dec4

I didn’t want to use the typical red and green for this Christmas Day layout, so I just went with green and the neutrals (brown/kraft/with a hint of blue); the Basic Grey Picadilly papers fitted in nicely with this page!

Thanks for looking!

I hope your Wednesday’s been fabulous. We’re half-way through the week alreadyyy (:

Basic Scrapbook Sketch / 9 April ’12

15 April 2012

My take on this week’s Basic Grey sketch challenge!

Project #21: Magic

magic1

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Studio Calico Take Note collection, chip shapes, scraps; Versamagic Sahara Sand chalk ink; American Craft thickers; washi tape

magic2

Love these cloud shapes and the washi tape! (:

magic3

The Take Note collection was so perfect for this with the “from sunrise to sunset” wording.

And I love it when layouts pretty much fall in place, which this one did (:

I hope your weekend’s been super duper!

Basic Grey Scrap Lift This!

7 April 2012

The challenge was to scraplift this layout in any way, shape, or form.

I think the hearts inspired me most on this one, so I pulled out my heart punch and put it to work. I wanted to keep the photo as the focal point so I tried not to over think things and went with whatever came to mind, which I guess was a clean layout (with the exception of a little mist for effect!).

Project #20: Shoes make me happy.

shoes1

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Glitz patterned paper; Tattered Angels bronze, mustard seed glimmer mist; American Crafts Amy Tangerine thickers; washi tape; heart punch; Maya Road mini kraft jotter tags

I hope your weekend’s been fabulous!
xo.

Sketch Wednesday / 21 Mar ’12

31 March 2012

I had this layout all ready to go before I left for the diving trip, but I didn’t have time to put it up.

So here we are, one week later (:

I had so much fun with this sketch because I don’t usually work with something like this. And I decided to do a two-in-one for this sketch and used all Picadilly papers to fulfill the criteria of this challenge.

Project #19: Sisters

sisters1

Supplies: Basic Grey Picadilly collection; Kaisercraft acrylic paint; American Craft thickers; DMC thread

I finally (after like forever) used paint on my layouts again. I used a foam brush and smeared paint for the background. I should do this more.

sisters2

The flower stickers in this corner are probably pretty random, but I think they’re cute anyway (:

sisters3

I hand-stitched down the middle of the hearts so they still have some dimension.

I am officially a certified scuba diver (:
Pictures and sorts soon!

Sketch Wednesday / 14 Mar ’12

22 March 2012

It’s time for my take on last week’s Sketch Wednesday!

I didn’t follow this sketch to a tee, but I used it as the starting point for this layout!

Project #18: JUMP

jump1

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; American Crafts Amy Tangerine collection, lovestruck clear stamps; Maya Road mini kraft jotter tags, mini ticket strip transparencies, fresh chipboard brackets; We R Memory Keepers lollipop baker’s twine; Versamagic cloud white chalk ink; Versafine white ink

jump2

I used the Amy Tangerine camera stamp to create the background. And I covered the chipboard quotation marks with patterned paper, inspired by this challenge (albeit overdue).

jump4

I journalled on the white space of the photo with a permanent marker.

jump3

And I love how the baker’s twine adds such a touch of whimsy to this layout.

Happy Thursday! (:

Basic Sketch Challenge

17 March 2012

This sketch was due like, one week ago. And although I didn’t make the deadline, I went ahead and used the sketch anyway (:

Anddd, I used the Basic Grey Picadilly papers I received in the mail in this post!

Project #17: Moments

Moments1

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Basic Grey Picadilly patterned papers, stickers; American Crafts premium ribbon; Maya Road mini ticket strip, transparencies; Tattered Angels bronze, mustard yellow glimmer mist; Versamagic aspen mist chalk ink

I used a landscape 4×6 photo instead of a portrait one, and used the empty space on the photo for my title.

Moments2

I adore that little birdie from the sticker sheet. So cute!

Moments3

Moments4

I cut circles in different sizes and layered them for the background.

Moments5

What I love so much about collection packs is how everything is already coordinated for you, making it so easy to put the layout together!

I hope your weekend’s been good (:

Sketch Wednesday / 7 Mar ’12

14 March 2012

Hello again! And welcome to my take on last week’s Sketch Wednesday challenge.
I am honestly having so much fun with these (:

Project #16: Be You

beyou1

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection thickers, Amy Tangerine thickers; washi tape; tag; Maya Road kraft jotter tag; Versamagic tea leaves chalk ink; Tattered Angels bronze, mustard seed glimmer mist; We R Memory Keepers slate baker’s twine; badge

I flipped the sketch to the right, but pretty much everything else is the same. And I suppose I could’ve added more layers, but I decided to keep it simple instead.

beyou2

beyou3

beyou4

The handwritten quote reads, “Stay true to you and you will end up incredibly happy.”
From my pinterest here.

beyou5

beyou6

beyou7

No misted background this time (save the tag). But I did sprinkle a handful of confetti, yay (:

I am still loving the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection. Absolutely darling!

We’re already halfway through the week. Heads up! The weekend’s just round the corner (:
I hope your day is fabbbb.

Sketch Wednesday / 29 Feb ’12

7 March 2012

Project #15: Good Times

goodtimes1

Supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock; Glitz Afternoon Muse patterned papers; American Crafts rub-ons; Amy Tangerine thickers, lovestruck clear stamps; Tattered Angels mustard seed glimmer mist, decadence chalk mist; Sizzix butterfly die; buttons

I know, this week’s Sketch Wednesday layout looks a lot like the last one I just did, doesn’t it? That’s probably because I was thinking about this sketch when I made that last layout. I guess you could say that I was subconsciously inspired (: But good things are worth repeating,  yes? (: haha.

goodtimes2

The American Crafts rub-ons are from forever ago when I first started scrapping. The rub-ons didn’t come off perfectly but I like the faded-ish look (:

goodtimes3

goodtimes4

Isn’t that Amy Tangerine stamp so cute?

goodtimes5

I love the pop of turquoise on this.

goodtimes6

As you can tell, I deviated from the sketch a bit. I put the journaling on the left instead of on the right, excluded the smaller photo at the bottom, and added more butterflies. But of course (:

I’m still loving these sketches.

Happy Wednesday!
Only three more days until the weekendddd (:

Made with Love Scrap Challenge Take

5 March 2012

Since I started scrapbooking, I’ve only done a handful of photoless layouts. So this scrap challenge at my local scrapbook store, Made with Love, was a lot of fun to do!

I made this layout about my favorite things right now (still technically twenty!). It’s going to be really neat to look back on this layout someday and see how much things have (or haven’t) changed since.

Project #14: Loving 20

loving201

Supplies: Bazzil Basics cardstock; American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection, large tags, thickers; We R Memory Keepers slate baker’s twine; Tattered Angels Mel’s Diner glimmer mist, Decadence chalk mist; washi tape; heart punch; badges.

loving202

loving203

Love the cute badges!

loving204

loving205

loving206

I kept the layout relatively simple so the pretty Dear Lizzy goodies could shine all by themselves (: I wish I had more them; can’t seem to get enough!

I hope your Monday has been fabbbb! (:
