Embracing the busyness of life.

Hardly believing that it’s May (already!!)

Learning to wait and be patient.

Making time for people I love, and to do things I love.

Trying to stay on top of my workload.

Needing to go running.

Cherishing the little moments of life.

Remembering to give my best in everything.

Having serious wanderlust.

Seizing the day.

You are exactly where you need to be.

Happy Thursday + Labor Day! I hope you get good rest from your labor today.

Catching up over spring break

11 March 2014

Do what you love: just start

So it’s finally spring break and the blog got a face lift!

What do you think?

The last couple of weeks have been so busy with school readings, assignments, and the like. Mix in family time, catching up with friends and the important stuff of life.

But I’m so glad to be able to get a little breather before school starts up again next week. And while the textbooks are shelved for now, I’ve pulled out my notepads and paper to plan and dream up new things for the blog.

Is there anything new you would like to see on the blog?
I always love hearing from you guys, so please let me know!

I’ve missed being here, but it’s good to be back. Always.

I hope your day is fabulous x.

Wanting to read more books.

Dreaming big dreams.

Planning.

Needing to execute those plans.

Itching to get organized.

Giving thanks.

Enjoying school + all my education classes.

Wishing for more hours in a day.

Remembering to embrace life and all its imperfections.

Wake up. Seize the day. Repeat.

Only one more day until the weekend!

True Love

14 February 2014

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.”

– John 3:16-18, The Message

Now that is true love – giving up His life in love so that we could live instead.

May you always embrace His precious love.
Happy Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day | love notes

6 February 2014

With just a little over a week to Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get cracking on those Valentine’s Day notes!

Truth be told, I’m not into Valentine’s Day at all. But I do love any excuse to print and use cute printables to share with my family and friends.

There are plenty of Valentine’s Day ideas floating around Pinterest. But I loved these printables and printed them out pronto. Here’s a bonus – they’re free! So grateful for people who share their creativity on the internet at no cost.

I ran out of paper at the end and didn’t get to print out these Valentines from A Fabulous Fete and A Pair and A Spare.

But I will, as soon as I get my hands on more paper.

I hope your day is lovely indeed!

Hello, February.

It’s Monday and things around here are back to the full routine after the long Chinese New Year weekend.

But oh February, you’re going to be something great.

Hello to celebrating love and the things that matter most. Hello, new ideas and creativity. Hello, catching up on Project Life and documenting life. Hello, new friends and adjusting back to routines. Hello to making the most of the shortest month of the year.

Hello, February – let’s make you swell.

I haven’t done one of these Right Now posts in awhile, so I thought I’d jump back onto it!

Thankful for catch-up sessions with friends.

Itching to play and put my Project Life spreads together.

Trying to focus and get work done.

Making plenty of to-do lists.

Staying busy.

Reminding myself to breathe amidst all the work + stress.

Loving that Project Life is pushing me to capture life’s little moments.

Learning to embrace all that life throws at me.

Being positive.

Live every day with intention.

Only one more day to the weekend! xx

Have a little faith

After being sick on the first day of school this week, and dealing with the worry of delayed/lost/missing school books (I still don’t know which!), it’s comforting + reassuring to know that things will always work out. Somehow.

And all you need is to have a little faith that things will be okay.
Even when things don’t according to plan.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

The hope of a New Year

1 January 2014

Hope

What I love so much about starting a new year is HOPE – another chance to start over, to believe in better things, another opportunity to change, to make new mistakes, to learn and grow.

The hope of a new year also brings uncertainty of the future. Uncertainty of what might happen, what could happen, what might not happen. There are so many reasons to fear what is ahead.

But this year, I’m embracing hope – the endless possibilities, the big dreams, the lessons and mistakes. All the anticipation, excitement, and thrill of what can and will be – that’s the hope of a new year.

From me to you, happy blessed 2014.

Here’s to 2014 and all that it will be. May it be the best year yet.

2013: in retrospect

31 December 2013

As we reflect on the year that has passed, and contemplate the year ahead, I love being able to look back in retrospect and see how I’ve grown and changed through the year – the things I’ve done, the mistakes I’ve made, the places I’ve been, the relationships I’ve built…

This was the year I…

  • passed my driving test and got my license (!!)
  • stayed on the Dean’s List
  • finished my freshman year of college
  • did summer school
  • made new friends + got closer to old(er) ones
  • studied the book of Genesis
  • learned to embrace change + each season of life
  • did things on the twenty-one list
  • tried twenty-one new recipes
  • turned twenty-two
  • gave plenty of piano lessons
  • tried not to stress out about school
  • stepped out of my comfort zone, in faith
  • got an Instagram account for the blog
  • ran my first half-marathon
  • made thirteen DIY projects
  • vacationed in Hong Kong
  • started writing letters
  • had to adapt to change
  • reminded myself to be thankful in all things

I certainly think 2013 was much quieter, and not as dramatic or exciting as 2012. And I’ll confess that I certainly didn’t keep all my New Year’s Resolutions. But I’m still so so thankful for yet another year.

What a blessing to be able to look back on the year that has passed and marvel at all that was.

I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store.
